Leftwing Fascism Has Arrived, and it Will Only Get Worse

America 2019: the left’s intolerance of the right is now absolute, total.

See:

You can’t even politely disagree with leftists.

If you express any opinion they disagree with, even if you do so modestly and even if you express partial agreement with them, they will still storm out in disgust.

The slightest deviation from leftism is proof that you are evil. They don’t want to talk about it. They don’t want to debate it. They don’t want to hear another perspective.

They want nothing to do with you.

They cannot stand to even be around you.

Forget going on a date with them–they won’t even speak to you if your views are not in complete alignment with theirs.

Even partial disagreement is intolerable.

There’s a word for what leftists have become in 2019: bigots.

You know how it’s “racist” to judge a person based on their skin color rather than the content of their character, i.e. without actually getting to know them personally? Well, leftists have taken to judging people based on their political views. If you disagree with them in the slightest, they want nothing to do with you whatsoever. They’ve already made up their minds about you. That’s bigotry.

Leftists are bigoted against us.

But it’s more than mere bigotry. If someone’s private views are bigoted, that’s one thing, but if they’re acting on that bigotry, and trying to impose their will on the group of people they are bigoted against, that’s way, way worse.

That’s fascism.

Nobody tell him Obama was the one who put kids in cages.

Whoever said the trend towards secularization in the West would make us more mellow, tolerant and less fervent was full of it. Christianity may be in decline in the West, but religious fervor certainly is not. When you read things like the above, how can you deny that leftism has become a religion? The main Abrahamic religions, Christianity, Islam and Judaism, are centered on full, unequivocal acceptance of the One True God and categorical rejection of all other gods. Leftism demands the same.

Anyway, I have no problem if a leftist disagrees with me or even hates me for my politics (although I contend the latter is very unhealthy).

But when they start trying to take action against me and my livelihood because of my politics, that’s something I will not stand for.

They crossed a line with the Covington Catholic kids. They wanted–still want, even now–those kids’ lives destroyed. They want them blackballed from colleges. Some leftists literally want them dead:

It’s not just our ideas and views that are intolerable, either: it’s us, ourselves.

Who needs a fascist government when American leftists are already well on the way to full-blown fascism? Don’t you see where this will lead? If you believe it is completely unacceptable and intolerable for someone to have different political views than your own, and you’re talking about excommunicating people for their views, how much of a stretch is it for you to call for extreme measures to deal with dissident voices?

The left no longer cares about opposing our ideas and views. The left is now going after the people who hold those views. That is a major shift that cannot be understated.

This ends with gulags.

Who needs Ingsoc and Big Brother when we have American leftists?

That’s basically the point Jim Geraghty makes in a recent column at the otherwise mostly worthless National Review:

“There is no sinister, government-run mass-surveillance system watching our every move.

Okay, there actually is, and it’s called the NSA, but Geraghty is talking about a 1984-style panopticon with black helicopters hovering outside your window and telescreens:

“The vast majority of us chose to carry around smartphones with cameras, and some of us chose to livestream so much of what we see, whether it’s dramatic or not. Big Brother isn’t watching; the mob is — at least when a particular moment is pitched to potential viewers as dramatic and demanding attention.

Pitched by whom? The Uniparty Propaganda Department, better known as the media. We’ll get to this later.

But yes, the larger point here is true: we’re always being watched and judged–not by Big Brother but by our fellow citizens and their smartphones.

“There is no sinister, government-run system for punishing those who say or do controversial or unpopular things. Groups of often-anonymous individuals on social media take it upon themselves to enact their vision of justice — demanding the identification of anyone seen acting controversially in social media videos, declare them “guilty of hate crimes,” and demanding “action” against them.

The Covington Catholic kids are the perfect example of what Geraghty is trying to say here. A totalitarian police state state did not try to destroy their lives. Their fellow citizens–those who recorded them and shared the video on social media–did.

“There is no state pressure needed to get private institutions to turn against suddenly ostracized individuals. Employers will quickly fire anyone who they deem to be a sufficient public-relations headache. Publishers preemptively warn authors that they will not stand by them if they become “the subject of public disrepute, contempt, complaints or scandals.” In the face of sufficient social-media outrage and negative press coverage, churches and religious schools will publicly promise to contemplate expulsion. Local officials with no jurisdiction over any particular affair will welcome “a tidal wave of condemnation.”

There is no state-run system for collective punishment; there is instead individuals calling for all colleges to express skepticism about any applicant from Covington Catholic High School.

The leftwing fascists themselves can’t fire you from your job, but they can certainly pressure your employer to fire you, so it’s basically the same thing.

“No hostile foreign power had to invade to impose these conditions upon Americans. No sinister cabal took control of the reins of our government. No one tore up the Constitution and imposed martial law or suddenly announced a new regime of seemingly random spotlighted surveillance and draconian social punishment for deviating from the mob’s amorphous definition of acceptable behavior. Groups of not-particularly famous, not-particularly powerful Americans chose to impose this new system upon all of us.”

Our Founding Fathers created a system of government incapable of being corrupted and turned into a totalitarian police state.

So the American totalitarians simply decided to turn every other institution in America into their totalitarian police state. The media. Hollywood. Academia. Social media platforms. Big business. They’ve all been either weaponized against us our turned into propaganda factories against us.

And the Constitution doesn’t say anything about reigning them in–it tells only the federal government what it can and cannot do to us.

Now, don’t get me wrong, there are parts of the federal government that are part of the American police state–most prominently the Department of (In)Justice and the FBI, and the #Resistance bureaucrats trying to gum up the works–but the greater point Geraghty is making is that our fascist tyranny operates a lot differently than Oceania’s.

Geragthy is saying America 2019 is not a government-administered 1984-style tyranny, but rather a ground-up, mob-based tyranny more akin to the period of mass hysteria following the French Revolution, known today as the Reign of Terror.

But what Geraghty misses is the fact that the leftwing mob is not organic. It didn’t just spontaneously materialize on its own. It is the collective product of decades of media/entertainment industry/academia brainwashing and narrative peddling. If we are living in the midst of a French Terror-style tyranny (to be clear: my example, not Geraghty’s), it’s important to point out that the French Terror was directed and overseen by the Committee of Public Safety. The “media” is our own Committee For Public Safety, directing the rage of the brainwashed mob at new targets seemingly weekly.

The leftwing mob operates on social media platforms run by Silicon Valley giants who have tilted the playing field dramatically in the mob’s favor. And it is assisted by big corporations that are compelled to not only placate and pander to the leftwing mob, but to openly promote its political agenda (e.g. Nike, Gillette, Apple, MasterCard, etc.)

Geraghty does sort of allude to corporations doing the bidding of the mob, and also points out that the Catholic Church buckled almost instantly and accepted the left’s lies on the Covington Kids, wasting no time throwing them under the bus. But Geraghty ultimately returns the focus of his post back to the leftwing mob itself.

Geraghty is right when he says leftwing fascism is not the result of us being conquered by a foreign enemy–the left is the enemy within. But I’d rather be fighting a foreign enemy because there’s no mistaking who the enemy is and what he wants.

The sinister cabal has not taken over our government entirely, because obviously we have Trump, but it’s taken control of a large chunk of it; that’s the Deep State. At this point, with all the stuff we’ve seen from Comey, Strzok, Ohr, Brennan, Clapper and the rest, you’d have to be willfully ignorant to deny the Deep State exists. However, at any rate, the sinister cabal doesn’t really need to take over government when it has control of the media, Silicon Valley, Hollywood, academia and corporate America. They didn’t have to tear up the Constitution to tyrannize us because the Constitution says nothing about non-governmental tyranny.

Geraghty is dead wrong in implying that the lefwing mob more or less exists in a vacuum and is self-driven, organic and spontaneous. The leftwing mob is a symptom of the problem, not the problem itself.

Still, he’s correct in a general sense that our current form of tyranny bears little resemblance to what the 20th century taught us tyranny would look like when it eventually ensnared America.

The most significant difference, however, between America 2019 and both 1984 and the guillotines of the French Terror, is that both Oceania and the Terror were the end points, while America 2019 is still a work in “progress.” In fact, I would even argue that we’ve only just begun our descent into tyranny and totalitarianism.

America can, and will, get worse. Much worse.

***

I’m hesitant to say “we” did this to ourselves, because we means all of us. But you and I had no part in this. We’re the ones constantly on the defensive, pushing back against the “media” and the mob (which are two sides of the same coin).

I didn’t want any of this. I wanted to be a sportswriter when I was younger. This was because I assumed the America of my adulthood would be like the America of my childhood, meaning mostly undisturbed by politics. When I was 17, I never imagined that within a decade, American life would be almost entirely consumed by politics. In fact, I never envisioned myself having anything much to do with politics as an adult. I figured I’d vote and maybe learn a bit more about the politicians themselves, but never anything significant. Times were different: you used to be able to go a whole day without thinking about politics. Isn’t that incredible?

Back in “the day,” people could live their whole lives without paying serious attention to politics. Sure, they’d tune in during elections and major historical moments like the JFK assassination, the Moon Landing, Watergate, the Iran Hostage Crisis, Lewinsky, 9/11 and the Iraq War, but for the most part, people were fully concerned with other things, like their careers, families, communities, churches, hobbies, pastimes and other non-political activities. But that’s not how America is anymore. We can’t ignore politics anymore.

Today, America feels like I imagine the run-up to the Civil War felt: the growing divide at the forefront of everyone’s mind, rumblings of secession, a sense of irreconcilability, and the fear that it was all building up to something very big and very bad.

Once I became politically “awakened,” I realized that becoming a sportswriter meant devoting my life to something ultimately inconsequential. I could have attempted to put my head in the sand and tried to ignore politics, but that’s no longer possible in this country. At some point, I would have been dragged in. Basically all of us have been dragged in by now.

And when that happens, you don’t fuck around: you choose a side and get after it.

I wish we could go back to the way things were “back in the day,” when you could mostly ignore politics and still take for granted that no matter who won the next election, the country and your own life would be more or less the same, that America would always exist and be the most powerful country on earth, and that you could get along just fine with people regardless of their politics.

But now, in 2019, we can no longer take any of those things for granted. We can’t just say, “At the end of the day, we’re all still Americans,” because each half of the country wants nothing to do with the other half.

What do we even have in common anymore? Love of country? Pfft. That’s a one-sided “issue” now. A shared history? Diversity has undone that. A shared culture? “Mainstream” pop culture has basically become a giant middle finger to President Trump and everyone who supports him, so no, we don’t have a shared culture because half the country is explicitly unwelcome to it.

We’re barely even a nation in any meaningful sense.

It’s not entirely the left’s fault. America’s global superpower status–and the resulting way of life we’ve all grown accustomed to–is threatened by the rise of China, Russia and Islam. The left didn’t do that.

But the demographic and cultural transformation of this country is a product of the left. The fact that white people are now actively discriminated against and hated–that’s the left’s doing. Republicans are treated like second-class citizens at work, at school and basically everywhere else besides our private homes–the left did that. (And we’re only Republicans in the first place because we’re against the left’s fascism; now we’re treated to more fascism for that.) The left is waging the War on Traditional Masculinity and Traditional Values. The left is pushing for drag queens to teach our children.

The left is undoing our way of life. You and I didn’t ask for any of this.

It’s in smaller things, too: movies nowadays are getting to the point where they’re becoming unwatchable because they prioritize pushing leftwing dogma first and entertainment second. Look at the list of this year’s Oscars nominees for Best Picture; most of them are in the running purely because of what they represent politically:

  • Black Panther”? It’s an ode to Black Power that casts whites as oppressive colonizers the world would be better without. Objectively, Black Panther is pretty average as far as Marvel superhero movies go (and was nowhere near as good as Infinity War, which was also released in 2018) but only Black Panther gets Oscars love because of its Social Impact and its Powerful Message that Black People Are Awesome and White People Suck.
  • “BlacKKKlansman”? It’s an anti-white film based on the premise that White People Are Racist–really breaking new ground there.
  • “Vice” trashes former Republican Vice President Dick Cheney.
  • “Bohemian Rhapsody” glorifies Freddie Mercury, the gay former frontman of Queen.
  • “Green Book” is about Racism in the 1960s.

The left has ruined entertainment because it decided entertainment is simply another way to push its political, racial and cultural dogma on the American people.

I would love it if I could just ignore all that stuff and focus on Sportsball, but that would mean essentially acquiescing to the left’s vision for this country, which I will never do.

You can’t be un-redpilled. You can’t buy back in to the same lies that have people chanting “BLACK LIVES MATTER!” blaming whitey for everything, and thinking that the most #powerful message a movie can send is that White Racism Is Bad, or that It’s Okay To Be Gay. It would be impossible for me to go back to believing the white race isn’t under attack, and that traditional masculinity isn’t also under attack, and that Women Don’t Have Equality In This Country.

There is no possible way you or I could withdraw from the political battlefield without consciously deciding to be cowards and surrendering to the left.

Ignoring politics is a de facto acceptance of the left’s fascist vision for this country. And so we have no choice but to fight.

If the past few years have shown anything, it’s that as our challenge to the left’s status quo and dominance has actually borne fruit (mainly in the form of Trump getting elected, as well as our growing presence online which allows us to both avoid and subvert the “media,” the nexus of the left’s power) the left’s fear of us has grown.

For the first time in a very long time, we’re actually getting somewhere. The left feels genuinely threatened, and their fear of us actually succeeding and toppling their system has manifested in their growing intolerance and efforts to destroy us. This is why they lie about us in the “media,” deplatform us on social media and try to get us fired from our jobs: because we’re actually producing results.

Their present fascism and intolerance is a direct result of our success over the past several years, meaning that the more gains we make culturally and politically, the more they will turn up the fascism and wrath.

When America was run by a Uniparty, where the Democrats called the shots and the Republicans pretended to oppose them, the left was just fine with letting us live our little lives in peace. Bush, Romney, McCain: those guys represented zero threat to the left’s dominance. The left was happy to let us have those guys leading us.

But not Trump. Oh, no: definitely not him. He represents a real threat to the Uniparty. He represents actual change. A wall!? Of course we can’t have a wall! It would slow the demographic transformation of the country and deprive Corporate America of an unlimited supply of cheap labor! Why, they’d actually have to hire Americans and pay them decent wages! Unacceptable! Trade rebalancing and tariffs? No way–multinational corporations had a good thing going with all that cheap foreign labor via outsourcing. Getting America out of the endless wars? Are you kidding me?!?! The military-industrial complex needs those endless wars! The list goes on.

Now that we’ve begun to rebel, they’re cracking down. That’s why you’re seeing this alarming behavior out of them today. They believe they can still squash the rebellion, put the genie back in the bottle, by coming down hard on any and all dissenting voices.

This is going to get worse before it gets better, but just know that the nastier and more intolerant the left becomes, the more we are succeeding.

Regarding the snapshot of the “tinder date tweet’….that bitch wasn’t worth his time anyhow! That guy dodged a ‘bullet’ and should be grateful.

Anyone who is that close-minded will wake up one morning, realize she is on the wrong side of 40 years old (for not being married), and try to blame someone/something for her loneliness. She probably thinks walking around wearing a pussyhat is a cool thing. Good riddance.
