1,000 People in Georgia Voted Twice in State’s June Primary Election

This has been a major concern about mail-in voting: what if someone votes by mail and then votes in person at a different precinct? What safeguards are in place to prevent this?

The bad news is that 1,000 people in Georgia tried to vote twice.

The good news is that they got caught. Which means that there are ways to detect double-votes.

Hopefully they were caught right away and had their votes purged. Because as the tweet above shows, the primary election was on June 9. It’s September 8 today.

It won’t do us any good if it takes until February 2021 to uncover tons of duplicate votes in the Presidential election.
