Starbucks Gets Rid of Employee Vaccine Mandate

Just a day after Carhartt announced it would be keeping its vaccine mandate in place, Starbucks is doing the opposite:

What an odd turn of events. Carhartt is generally viewed as a conservative company and Starbucks is widely viewed as a liberal company.

But I think the real difference here is that Starbucks is a smart company and Carhartt is a dumb company.

Starbucks is one of the nation’s largest employers with an estimated 346,000 employees, although that number is global:

This is a big deal. Starbucks is one of the big boys, one of the heavyweights. I expect many companies to follow their lead.
