Fauci says ‘full-blown pandemic phase’ of COVID-19 coming to end | Washington Examiner
Dr. Anthony Fauci has some good news: The United States is on its way to exiting the “full-blown” pandemic phase of COVID-19.
Fauci, who is President Joe Biden’s chief medical adviser, said the U.S. is heading in a positive direction due to vaccination rates, treatments, and prior infections making the virus more manageable as year three of the pandemic plays out.
“As we get out of the full-blown pandemic phase of COVID-19, which we are certainly heading out of, these decisions will increasingly be made on a local level rather than centrally decided or mandated. There will also be more people making their own decisions on how they want to deal with the virus,” Fauci said in a Financial Times interview published Tuesday.
Fauci said he hopes COVID-19 restrictions around the country end soon. The report noted that he agreed with the suggestion that it was likely to happen this year.
In fact, states are already beginning to lift pandemic rules as surges associated with the omicron variant die down. That includes California, where an indoor mask mandate is set to expire in less than two weeks, and school mask mandates are coming to an end in other states.
A recent study, touted by Republicans such as Sen. Rand Paul, found that early pandemic lockdowns meant to stem the spread of COVID-19 were not effective.
Fauci also reasserted that the virus will not be eradicated and that the public will have to learn to live with it.
“We are looking at a time when we have enough people vaccinated and enough people with protection from previous infection that the COVID restrictions will soon be a thing of the past,” Fauci said.

No one should be grateful for this. None of us should be willing to forgive these people for finally, after two years, coming to their senses.
You do not get credit for no longer being tyrannical.
Just because you stopped being evil and tyrannical does not mean you are now a good person.
They all have to be removed from power. Vote out the ones we can, and then for the ones we can’t vote out (Fauci), demand they be fired by the politicians we vote in.
Never give these people any power ever again. Because they’ll do this again if they’re not fully and completely repudiated.
